Welcome to the official blog of the American Job Center serving Rock Island, Henry, and Mercer counties! To kick things off, we’re spotlighting a key partner in our mission: the Workforce Development Board. The Workforce Development Board (WDB) is a team of local leaders, businesses, educators, and public officials who help guide job training, hiring initiatives, and workforce programs in our region. Their goal? To make sure local job seekers gain the right skills—and local businesses find the right talent.
How the Board Serves You
- For Job Seekers: Creates training and career pathways based on real job market demand.
- For Businesses: Helps develop talent pipelines to fill in-demand jobs.
- For the Community: Aligns schools, training providers, and businesses to build a stronger economy.
Board members play an active role in shaping workforce priorities, reviewing program outcomes, and advising local needs. They bring their expertise to the table to make decisions that impact real people, real businesses, and real careers in our region.
Membership is both a responsibility and a unique opportunity to influence economic growth and help others succeed through employment. Are you interested in shaping the future of work in our region? Consider joining the Workforce Development Board. Your experience and insight could make a real impact.
Thank you to our dedicated Board members who make this work possible!
